Michael Ross Waistcoat Featuring in Harry Potter - Canada
A Fair Isle waistcoat designed and supplied by Michael Ross for the new Harry Potter and the Cursed Child theatre production in Canada is now on stage.
Performances started on May 31st at the CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre, Toronto, after a three-year delay due to Covid.
‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ is based on a short story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany; the story starts 19 years after Rowling’s Potter books finish. So, 19 years on, Harry, Hermione and Ron are adults, and their own children are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
The Harvest Fair Isle in Bracken is available on our website and can be made especially for you as a crew neck sweater, cardigan, slipover or, like the one in Harry Potter, a waistcoat. The Harvest design reflects the heritage of traditional English knitwear.
Hundreds of people across three continents have been involved to create the production, with a cast of 35. Custom made sets, special effects and illusions have transformed the theatre and there are over 500 costumes, including the Michael Ross waistcoat.
‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ premiered at London’s Palace Theatre in June 2016 and Broadway’s Lyric Theatre in March 2018. The show won a record-breaking nine Olivier Awards in London and six Tony Awards in New York, including Best Play in both locations.
The show in Toronto has already received rave reviews and as such performances have been extended to December 24th, 2022.
