About the Design
Imagine the beautiful colours of wild flowers, the textures of the landscape, evocative, sweet fragrances and endearing sounds of birdsong and buzzing bees, all to be encountered and savoured as you stroll through the glorious English countryside. 

This is the inspiration behind the Country Fair Isle design, from Michael Ross; these images, scenes and sensations were combined and translated into a rich palette of colour and pattern to reflect the feeling and atmosphere of a country walk.

Because of the impact that light has on these images at different times of the day, there are two versions – night and day, both relating to their traditional English knitwear heritage. This Fair Isle pattern was originally created in 1982, for the iconic fashion designer Laura Ashley and featured in sweaters and blankets.

Designed in England and crafted today in 100% Wool by hand knitting machine in our own workshops in Thatcham, England, our Country Fair Isle design demonstrates Michael Ross’s continuous commitment to original design and top quality materials and construction methods.
